This image is made from stacking nearly 200 CT slices of a patient's sinus cavity. It was done by Dr. Kai-hung Fung, and tied for first place in the 2007 International Science & Engineering Visualization Challenge.
I noticed this on
Flavorwire, an arts newsletter I get. What does it look like to you?

It looks like a Georia O'Keefe to me. Imagine merging one of her flowers with one of her skulls, in technicolor! Of course, her paintings referenced female anatomy, so there's that, too.

To me, it's an undersea creature-- a neon jellyfish, perhaps-- undulating through tropical waters. Stunning!
A metamorphosis: a night moth emerging from its chrysalis, a dark iris unfurling from its bud.
Oh wow, that is fantastic! To me it is a dragon crouching...though he does have rather insectoid features.
I would love to know how this creature would look if it had been constructed out of *blocked sinuses*, from which I suffer. I don't know what a slice of mine would actually look like, but I am betting that they wouldn't be a pretty sight.
Jen you took the words from my mouth. It's absolutely a Georgia O'Keefe. Beautiful.

Ha! I figured I'd find O'Keefe when I opened the comments. Toss me on that wagon.
Though I once saw some amazing images at a show at the International Museum of Surgical Science...I am not surprised at all by simply hearing the word "sinuses."
Either way, a beauty thing, no?
It looks like a cross between a dragonlike creature and perhaps a mothlike creature.
Very cool!

Gorgeous
Electric dragon underworld rainbow beauty.
Female anatomy in all of her glory.
Hello everybody -- I think it looks like a Rosarch test!
I keep wondering how he got that blue. It's so intense.
I too thought Georgie O'Keefe. Love it.
